Scientists believe that young people also need to take statins

Today, statins are used by millions of people to lower blood cholesterol and reduce the risk of cardiovascular disease. But scientists from the Medical Center of McGill in Canada believe that many young people actually can benefit greatly benefit from statins. According to experts, statin therapy in this age group could prevent 266,000 additional cases of heart attacks and strokes for 10 years.
