Yoga can help with arrhythmias
According to experts, the lives of many patients with severe forms of the arrhythmia is very limited. These people often refuse to meet with friends, travel and visits to various events, as they are afraid of unpleasant episodes. These attacks may be accompanied by chest pain, shortness of breath and dizziness, causing anxiety and worry.
The study included 80 patients with arrhythmia, which were divided into two groups - one group was engaged in yoga, while the other group was the control group. The participants practiced yoga for one hour once a week in the hospital with an experienced instructor. yoga program lasted 12 weeks and included a light movement, deep breathing and meditation.
The data showed that patients who practiced yoga, as a result had a better quality of life, reduced heart rate and lower blood pressure than those who did not practice yoga. Experts believe that deep breathing is characteristic of yoga, balancing the parasympathetic and sympathetic nervous system, which leads to a smaller change in heart rate. Proper breathing and movements may also have beneficial effects on blood pressure.
