These results were obtained thanks to the scientists conducted the study, which was attended by over 93 000 women and girls ages 25 to 42 years old. Experiments have shown that consumption of strawberry and blueberry three times per week, can decrease susceptibility to heart attacks by 32%, compared with those these berries eating once a month or less.
Curative effect of these berries have due to their composition contained flavonoids. Flavonoids, as phenol compounds inhibit the formation of cholesterol in the blood and dilate the arteries, resulting in exerts a beneficial effect on the functioning of the cardiovascular system of the body.
As reported by one of the authors of the study: "We found that the use of data berries in youth can reduce the risk of heart attack later in life."
It is worth noting that the flavonoids are also found in foods such as blueberries, eggplant, dark chocolate and grapes.
